After the resumption of MICE activity in 2022, the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau is presenting an action plan and objectives aimed at enhancing the positioning of the destination’s business tourism offering in its priority markets (Spain, France, United Kingdom, the Nordic countries, Benelux, Germany and the United States). |

Incentives in touch with nature
|
The MICE accommodation offer at the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees includes ideal incentive experiences for enjoying contact with nature. Some of these establishments employ experts who take care of the surroundings and the establishments’ kitchen gardens, where some of the products that are later used in the kitchen are grown. |

Located within PGA Catalunya Resort’s grounds, which total more than 500 hectares, the hotel offers open-air sports and leisure activities for groups.
The experience can be supplemented with interesting visits led by Oriol Dalmau, PGA Catalunya Resort’s biologist, to view the organic kitchen garden, learn about the flora and fauna that can be found in PGA Catalunya Resort or collect honey from the hives inhabited by more than a million bees that produce PGA Catalunya Resort’s local honey. |

Just 400 metres from the crystalline waters of the cove of Sa Riera, in Begur, the Talaia Plaza Ecoresort has a natural environment surrounded by pine woods filled with bird boxes and insect hotels. There is also an organic vegetable garden and hives for making honey.
The groups who come to the resort for incentive or training stays can take part in a variety of activities involving nature, gastronomy based on local produce and solidarity. One such activity is the “green tour” with Talaia Plaza Ecoresort’s expert botanist to learn about the species that can be found there. |

|
Humanside Experiences presents Hi bird! – a new group activity for businesses and institutions in which participants enjoy teamwork that has a real and positive impact on nature. The aim is to build nesting boxes for birds and donate them to organisations that manage nature parks and protected spaces. The activity is organised in collaboration with these organisations.

At the end of last year, Starware, the Dutch company specialised in the development of supply chain systems, celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Costa Brava. This was not a random decision by any means; the destination is closely tied to the company’s beginnings, when its founders, who were 18-year-old youths at the time, spent their summers teleworking from the beaches of the Costa Brava. Thirty years later, they wanted to return to visit the places that had left the deepest marks on them. During the tour, they stopped over at Peralada Resort, which prepared a complete programme to give them maximum enjoyment from the experience.

The Girona Conference Centre, venue for large congresses held in the city, has been working on the positive social impact those attending these events can have on the city; or rather, their legacy.
Since the beginning of 2022, in partnership with the Girona City Convention Bureau and the congresses’ organisers, an effort has been made to identify the value and knowledge potential contributed by each congress to the general public, above and beyond the economic return generated for companies operating in the MICE industry by the congress attendees’ overnight stays and the services they consume.

Afterwork MICE & Sports in Lyon |
The Afterwork MICE & Sports held in Lyon brought 21 Girona-based companies into contact with 28 event planners and sports clubs in a dynamic, interactive encounter. A quiz focussed on the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees was the central thread for presenting the destination’s offering to the participants, distributed in groups that paired Girona companies and organisers. Organised and led by Humanside Experiences, the activity provided excellent opportunities for generating and strengthening contacts.
The dinner organised by Cuina de l’Empordanet was prepared by the chefs from the restaurants Es Portal Gastronòmic, Diferent and Saó. |
